Kevin Sellars

Kevin Sellars joined the College of Medical Science as its medical director and as an assistant professor in 2025. He arrived trained in both internal medicine and aerospace medicine with civilian and military expertise.

In the 24 years prior to his arrival, he worked as an attending physician for both the Providence Medical Group in Newberg and the Providence Newberg Medical Center, serving as the senior physician and former medical director of outpatient services at the former and in inpatient care (2001-06) and outpatient cardiology services at the latter.

In addition, since joining the United States Air Force Reserve in 2010, he’s served a variety of roles at Travis Air Force Base in California, including as flight surgeon, chief of hospital services, squadron commander, and deputy group commander. He currently holds the rank of colonel and is the chief of aerospace medicine. In all, he brings nearly 35 years of experience in the field.

Sellars completed his residency in internal medicine with Boston University (2000) and internship with Brown University (1998), after earning a doctorate in medicine from Ross University School of Medicine in New York in 1997, a bachelor’s degree in medical technology from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (1991), and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Harding University (1989).

He lives in Newberg and has four grown children – Amanda, Noah, Annalise and Ashlyn Grace – and attends the Southwest Church of Christ in Tigard. Sellars enjoys spending time with family, traveling and exploring new cultures, flying, and playing golf.
