Bachelors (BGS) in General Studies
Overview
The Bachelor of General Studies (BGS) is an online asynchronous degree that offers a flexible academic path for students seeking to tailor their education to diverse interests and goals. As an interdisciplinary degree, the BGS is not tied to a specific major or minor. Instead, students create a customized curriculum by selecting courses from two or three areas of concentration in 糖心logo入口 Digital. This intentional design allows students to pursue unique intellectual interests, prepare for professional careers, or lay a foundation for graduate study.
The General Studies major offers a 36-semester-hour course of study where students have the flexibility to choose major courses based on their interests and goals. Enrollment counselors and faculty are available to assist students in determining how best to focus their upper-level studies in one or more primary areas of concentration. The BGS program also includes a Capstone Seminar where students demonstrate their learning through a culminating project, research paper, or presentation. This component allows students to integrate and apply their knowledge and skills gained throughout the program. Students must complete a minimum of 36 credit hours in residence at 糖心logo入口, and prior learning credit can be used to fulfill BGS elective requirements; prior learning does not apply to the residency requirement.
